Sazabi: Part 1

I wanted to do a quick update, even though I really don't have much to update on (and no pictures)..  All the parts for my Sazabi are now cut, sanded, and packaged in little plastic baggies.  Unfortunately, the current weather situation and life busyness means I probably won't be able to sit down and get to painting till around March.  Still, I figured this would be a great time to discuss my plans for the Sazabi.

When I originally decided on picking up this kit, I had planned on using a white color scheme with grey highlights.  However, when early images of the contents of the kit started coming out, I quickly learned that the waterslides were almost entirely white.  The options were to either use a light grey with darker grey highlights, not use the waterslides, or pick a new color scheme for the kit.  I naturally went with the last option and began brainstorming alternatives.  Now, around this time, a new kit started showing up in Build Fighters -- the Kampfer Amazing.  When it was originally unveiled through its HG kit, I wasn't that interested.  However, rather than the navyish blue that the HG used, the one featured in the anime is much closer to a killer black.  So, with that as my inspiration, I've decided to go with a very dark black color scheme for my Sazabi: Nocturne (or Noir, Nacht, or something else.. give me time >.>)!  The final colors will probably have a hint of blue, and I'm pretty excited to get started on the painting.  I'm planning on a silver frame with light blue frame details and replacing the original yellow parts with a metallic orange, so look forward to it.  The other thing I'm thinking of doing is adding some extra verniers and possibly some more.  At one point I had considered getting an MG Tallgeese just for the verniers, but with the Vernier 02 parts coming out soon, I kinda wanna try building something more appropriate and less bulky.

Now, while it's regrettable that I can't actually work on the Sazabi, I'm hopeful that I can start working on the next project during the downtime so that I can have both ready to be painted once things are more ideal.  I've also started doing a few simple LED experiments to get ready for that second project.  Not gonna give it away just yet, but it'll be my first attempt at including LEDs, so here's hoping it turns out well!

Project: Next~

So, still trying to find a replacement for the broken part on the Stein..  In other news, two new projects on the horizon, the first showed up today:

Visiting the parents for the holidays, and terrible weather means I have plenty of time to cut, sand, and figure out a paint scheme!
